"The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”
Zephaniah 3:17

Not a boy, no longer solely a boy mom. A baby girl, expected in sweet and slightly sweaty June, a month of frequent matrimonies, a Gemini, our third, the charm after two boys. Oh such a shift in my soul from fighting for holy masculinity for my sons to sacred femininity for my daughter- still the mission: raise children fully loved by and sharing the love of God. And yet, I find my motherhood invigorated by more feminine energy entering our family, for the novel challenge of raising a daughter alongside some rambunctious boys. Will she prove more challenging with eating, and sleeping then her brothers? Will she also develop a strong sense of independence and ability to self-entertain like her brothers? Will she also love outdoors and tackling Daddy with her brothers? Oh the discovery of a new God-woven life perfectly lad for the tapestry of the Couture family. A daughter to share feminine truths, burdens, fears and beauty’s with from poetry of periods to producing life later on. The precious harmony of a healthy mother-daughter relationship I desire to nurture in her future like I cherish with my mother.
But for now, I wait in wonder at the newness of mothering a daughter, contemplating the perfect meaning of our top name: OLIVIA LOUISE, a peace-filled warrior.
