How to Survive and Maybe Thrive with Three Littles

From two to three a lovely little trinity

of love and chaos intertwined such challenges

given by God Divine

Our precious daughter now already one month old, and we are definitely still adjusting to a family of five with three under the the age of five. Our boys never seem to run out of energy, so I spend way to much time in the Georgia hellfire heat of July to bake all the energy out of their  little selves while wishing I could stay in the heavenly gift of air conditioning snuggling my sweet infant babe and sitting frequently. So often I am divided under the demands of three; therefore created a schedule allocating a little bit of alone time with each child and a little bit of sleep time for me during their naps and at night:

Despite the organization and routine that works for our family other footnotes and adjustments occur regularly. So my unofficial list as a sidebar to the sacred schedule that gives a tidbit of sanity and serenity:

  1. One errand or outing a morning- stop trying and doing multiple because we move so slow with baby and two toddlers.

  2. Boys are outside when breastfeeding Olivia for space for them to wiggle not all over baby and momma.

  3. Go out on errands only 2 times a week- stay home for 3 to allow for a slower paced life.

  4. Grocery shop with husband as much as possible because wrangling 3 kids ain’t a joke especially in Costco.

  5. Take it easy as much as you can- do less God Bless

  6. It’s okay to break down and cry- and let out frustration for a moment when overwhelmed by the demands especially during lunchtime/ naptime and when covered in spit up and sweat.

  7. Remember it takes time to adjust and fully adapt to raising three kiddos- 3 month grace period, 90 days to crest new habits so be patient and kind to them and moreover to yourself.

Spit up, poop, pee and please mommy please,

such a needy season

with little time for ease

Eternal joys await those who endure,

so hold on to these little ones so pure
